A communications strategist with a balance of corporate and agency experience, Nancy Maffucci is a lecturer at Mercy College’s Graduate School of Business, where she teaches marketing and communications courses. Prior, Nancy served as director of Communications at IMS Health (now known as QuintilesIMS), a multi-billion dollar global information and technology services company helping the healthcare industry enhance products and services and improve patient outcomes.
Before that, she spent 13 years leading the global communications team at Wunderman, the billion-dollar digital advertising agency owned by Young & Rubicam. At Wunderman, she was responsible for ensuring all stakeholders—clients, prospects and employees—received consistent, actionable communications about Wunderman’s strategic imperatives. She was responsible for Wunderman’s active involvement at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Nancy and her team developed the Wunderman’s Sigi Awards, an internal recognition program conceived to honor agency founder, and industry pioneer, Lester Wunderman. In 2012, Wunderman’s Sigi Awards received PRSA’s Big Apple Award for the best internal communications program of the year.
Nancy also served as vice president at MasterCard, responsible for U.S. Communications, Corporate Communications, CEO Communications, and Sales & Marketing Integration. She has worked for large PR agencies, including Burson-Marsteller, Cohn & Wolfe and MSL, serving as team leader/senior counselor for General Motors (The GM Card – Silver Anvil Winner), Heinz, N.A., Colgate-Palmolive, Hasbro, Alfred Dunhill, Oxford Health Plans, Sterling Health, among others.
In 2013, Nancy served on the board of directors of Dancing Dreams, a charity that helps physically-challenged children dance. She started her career as a trade journalist. She spends her free time reading nonfiction, cooking, traveling and relaxing in New Mexico.
